Made It Happen
-In 3rd grade, I said I wanted to be either a lawyer or judge. While I was actually speaking as Sandra Day O'Connor giving a book report, I'm still on video tape saying those very words.
-In 12th grade, after watching one too many Law & Orders, I decided that I was going to go to law school and become a laywer.
-In my first year at college, I decided I was going to go to law school in Washington, DC.
Well, here I am sitting in my empty apartment building with 2 huge suitcases and my laptop. I'm in Washington, DC and in a little over a week, I will begin my first day of law school. I'm sure there will be moments in the next three years when I won't think this, but this is all really a dream come true. While I'm usually one of those people who gets things done with a personal motto of "Make it Happen," this was such a large goal that I'm even a little surprised that I saw it all the way through. It's still very surreal. Even with my apartment key and signing of a lease, I still feel like I'm a visitor here. But it's only been five hours so I'll give it a little time.
I guess most of my nervousness has subsided. I have no idea how I'm going to sleep without a bed for the next two nights or when I'm going to buy my furniture but just being in this great city makes me forget about those worries. When I landed this morning, the first thing I saw was the Captiol. How awesome is that? And so begins the next leg of the adventure...

I'm so glad you've got comments turned back on for your blog. Now I can leave you lots and lots, and you KNOW I'll be reading religiously because I'm already counting down the days until I start law school myself.
